#421 - "Licensing the 35th" - May 28, 2018
The 35th Anniversary has officially begun (sorta) thanks to the Licensing Expo in Las Vegas. This week on the show, we'll explore the information coming out of the show including new licensors, returning favorites, and some hints of what may be coming for Ghostbusters Day NEXT year already. Also this week, the Ghostbusters website is about to get a makeover for the anniversary to be revealed on Ghostbusters Day. What could it mean? Chris unearthed a laserdisc player and was able to dig into a Japanese visual effects disc featuring Richard Edlund and the Boss Films crew, and a fundraising outdoor screening of the original Ghostbusters film is coming to New Jersey. All that and more on this week's show!
#420 - "Brickheadz and Ghostbusters Day Speculation" - May 21, 2018
This week on the show, discussing the new LEGO announcement, SCTV reunion and speculating on what may be in store for this year's Ghostbusters Day. First up, Troy and Chris chat about the new LEGO Brickheadz two-pack that was announced this past week, recap the SCTV reunion that took place in Toronto and is coming to a Netflix near you, and dissect an article on the Murray/Ramis feud from the Daily Mail. Then, in the second half of the show, join us for some speculation on what we'd like to see announced, what we think will be announced, and what we DON'T think will be announced at Ghostbusters Day in just a few weeks time. #419 - "Ghostbusters Answer the Call #4 and 5" - May 14, 2018
This week on the show: Rick Moranis comes out of retirement (sorta) and IDW's Ghostbusters Answer the Call series comes to a close. First up, the latest news as Rick Moranis reprises one of his most beloved non-Louis Tully roles for The Goldbergs, a fan is featured on Facebook's "Ridiculous Rides" for their Ectomobile replica, and some discussion about Ecto Cooler and its demise. Then, in the second half of the show, stay tuned for discussion on the final two issues of the IDW Comics limited follow-up to the 2016 reboot Ghostbusters Answer the Call. This week on the show, Paul Feig wants another Call, Ernie and Ray chat, and Steve Johnson does a little nose candy. First up, Troy and Chris discuss the click bait du jour as Paul Feig mentions on the Simple Favor press circuit that he'd like to do another Ghostbusters film, what does it mean? Also, Steve Johnson got a little more ink this week because of his unorthodox inspiration for Slimer - a new revelation most likely to come in his next book. Rounding out the show is some discussion about Ray Parker Jr.'s podcast with Ernie Hudson and a couple shout outs to the Alberta Ghostbusters and the Ecto Force of Florida. This week on the show, Guinness World Records are broken, Jan Vogler engages on Twitter and is the Ghostbusters music video canon? First up, the latest in news including a follow-up on last week's conversation about the 800 number at the time of the original film's release, Rick Moranis joining the SCTV reunion in Toronto, a group of fans breaking world records at a marathon in London, Forbes magazine talking about Real Ghostbusters Playmobil toys, Terminal Reality back in the news after shutting down back in 2013, and more. Then, in the second half of the show, we discuss a topic presented to us: given that the Ghostbusters theme song appears in Ghostbusters II, does that mean the music video from 1984 is canon? In the first half of the show, the latest news including Bill Murray's lengthy discussion with Willie Geist on the Sunday Sitdown, Ray Parker Jr.'s next guest on his podcast, a fun account of being on set in 1983 on GB Fans, Steve Johnson talking to the We Got This Covered blog, a surprise revelation about Harold Ramis' family, and Jack White talks with Jimmy Fallon about being a kid and calling an 800 number around the time Ghostbusters came out. It's a double (possibly triple)-episode this week as we explore all of the news fit to print from New York Toy Fair, unbox Playmobil's new Ghostbusters II Playmogram 3D figures and remember Harold Ramis on the fourth anniversary of his passing. First up, Playmobil was kind enough to send the boys each a surprise package and they do a live unboxing on the air, discussing the new Ghostbusters II line from the international company. Next up, a discussion on Toy Fair 2018 announcements including Real Ghostbusters action figures, Stranger Things tie-ins, and a whole lot more.
