This week on the show, we're building Stages 18 through 20 of the Eaglemoss Hero Collector Ecto-1 model kit! And while we do, we're talking about the Ghostbusters Afterlife delay to June, Ghostbusters clothing and sneaker offerings from Reebok, Fortnite and Rocket League skins, official Mack's Factory Proton Pack prop replica part sales, and more!
#641 - "WGBI Halloween 2020 Spooktacular" - October 26, 2020
Can you all believe it? It’s Halloween already! What a strange and weird world this year has been. But there’s one thing that’ll make you feel a whole lot better: a little WGBI on the radio. That’s right, WGBI is on the air with another Spooktacular mega-mix by the master himself, Chris Stewart. Songs, trailers, soundbites, and a whole lot more are coming your way. Don’t touch that dial, because WBGI is live!
#640A - "Ghostbusters Afterlife Date Shift" - October 22, 2020
In this quick update, Troy talks about the breaking news that Ghostbusters Afterlife has shifted its date to June 11, 2021 - the second change in schedule since the pandemic began. What does it mean for fans? What does it mean for the production (and what have they been up to lately, including mixing on a dub stage and color correction at Company3)? And while he's at it, Troy talks a little bit about the video games and merch news of the week too including Ghostbusters in Fortnite, Rocket League and some crazy Reebok sneakers on the way!
#640 - "Eaglemoss Builders Club Part 8" - October 19, 2020
Technical difficulties aren't going to get us down - this week on the Ghostbusters Interdimensional Crossrip podcast, we're building stages 16 and 17 of the Eaglemoss Hero Collector subscription Ecto-1 model kit. And while we do, we're talking about the latest Ghostbusters Afterlife news including film scoring happening on the Sony Pictures lot, Adam Savage working on a pair of Ecto-Goggles, Element Ghostbusters skateboards hitting virtual shelves, Urban Outfitters and Joshua Vides Ghostbusters-themed clothing on sale, and what does Coming To America 2 going to Amazon Prime mean for Afterlife? And yes, we attempted video this go-round and had a massive technical failure - but next time, get ready for all the split-screen building you can handle!
#639 - "Ghostbusters Afterlife Reshoots?" - October 12, 2020
This week on the good ol' Ghostbusters podcast, we're speculating on why Jason Reitman, Finn Wolfhard, Celeste O'Connor, and Logan Kim may have been recently on the Sony Pictures lot. And why was the Afterlife Ecto-1 spotted around Culver City? It was obvious they're creating something, but what? And if they are indeed picking up shots or reshooting for Ghostbusters Afterlife, what does that mean for the March 2021 release date? Also this week, Ross May of the Reitman for the Job podcast poses an interesting math question and Chris gets out the pencil and graph paper to check it out!

#638 - "Spengler Wand Chat" - October 5, 2020
With our thanks to Hasbro, on this week's Crossrip Troy and Chris are chatting about the Plasma Series Neutrona Wand, and while they do, they're also talking about the latest Ghostbusters news! Including Carrie Coon and Ernie Hudson's comments on Ghostbusters Afterlife, confectionary items hitting in the UK, and a secret Starbucks Frappacino menu item that you've gotta try!

#637 - "Hasbro PulseCon Round-Up" - September 28, 2020
This week on the show, we’re recapping all the goings-on at Hasbro’s virtual PulseCon Ghostbusters panels: from Ernie Hudson’s walk down memory lane to two new product reveals. The Ecto-1 Plasma Series Ecto-1 came (and went) on the same day it was announced, and a Real Ghostbusters retro GhostPopper was reissued through Walmart stores and (as of this printing) is still available for purchase. Aside from that, what did we glean from the panel and the interviewees. And what does this panel reveal a bit about Hasbro’s focus in terms of demographic, or more specifically some of the challenges that they’re facing with Ghostbusters? All of these topics, plus a whole lot of talk about Jason Reitman’s walk around the Ecto-1 from Ghostbusters Afterlife is here and ready for your ears!
#636 - "The Ghostbusters Interdimensional Resurrection - Part I" - September 21, 2020
On this, the most glorious 70th birthday of one William Murray, we present a crossover event of biblical proportions: the Crossrip meets the Resurrection in a role-playing audio drama spectacular! Join Chris and Troy as Ghost Master Doug Banks of Ghostbusters Resurrection fame leads them through an incredible scenario as liaisons to the Paranormal Contracts Oversight Commission (or PCOC, for short). Just a couple of suits out on a routine inventory are about to embark upon the adventure of a lifetime. Will they be possessed? Will they ever be able to eat sushi comfortably again? And will they be stopped by the Rat King? All these questions and more are revealed in an incredible story spun by Doug. Ready to continue your adventure? Listen to the exciting conclusion in the Ghostbusters Resurrection feed immediately after! (Amazing cover artwork by John Yurcaba himself as well!)
#635 - "Whiskey Talk with Troy" - September 14, 2020
Chris is working extremely hard on a special project to be unveiled next week, so this week you’re stuck with the single-voice ramblings of Troy as he drinks a Carthay Manhattan. Some of the topics of one-sided discussion this week include Sony Pictures Entertainment Chairman Tony Vinciquerra’s comments during a media conference about Sony’s release plans for 2020 and beyond - and how they were misconstrued by the internet, but what they may tell us could be in store come January/February of next year. Rick Moranis made a comeback (was he ever really absent in our hearts though) in a Ryan Reynolds commercial which was delightful, what could it mean for him stepping back in front of the camera in the future? All that and a whole lot of using this platform for rambling and long-winded therapy are in store, tune in! Baby steps!
#634 - Producer/Author/Comedian Paul Gannon - September 7, 2020
On this week’s show: Paul Gannon talks his new book Ain’t Afraid of No Ghosts, Hasbro PulseCon is coming in September, the Louisiana Ghostbusters need your help in hurricane relief, and Ivan and Dan remember Chadwick Boseman. First up in the news, Hasbro has a virtual convention coming in September where there is promise of Ghostbusters announcements galore (plus, the Tully’s Terrible Night exclusive will go on sale on the same dates), then in the second half of the show Paul Gannon joins us to talk about his paranormal experiences, turning his fandom of Ghostbusters into real paranormal investigation, the CheapShow Podcast hitting a million downloads, his experiences at Fan Fest 2019, and a whole lot more!
#633 - "Eaglemoss Builders Club Part 7" - August 31, 2020
This week on the show, we’re tackling the opposite side of the front suspension on our Ecto-1 kits with Issue 6, Stage 15! As we build the incredible Eaglemoss Hero Collector subscription set, Troy and Chris talk about the latest in pop culture including what doors DC Comics’ Fandome has opened for future virtual conventions, listener advice on keeping extra parts handy, and a whole lot more!
#632 - Illustrator and Designer CHOGRIN - August 24, 2020
This week on the show, we sit down with artist Joseph Game aka CHOGRIN - plus we talk Sony’s Drive-In Experience and Jason Reitman’s introduction, Richard Edlund’s engineering achievement award, and Bill Murray’s latest with Sofia Coppola. First up in the news, Jason Reitman introduced the original Ghostbusters at a special drive-in experience on the Sony Pictures lot and talked about how excited he is for Ghostbusters Afterlife to premiere on the big screen. Boss Films founder and Visual Effects legend Richard Edlund is receiving an honorary membership to the SMPTE organization that honors achievements in film technology. Oh and Bill Murray has a new movie with Sofia Coppola coming to Apple TV+ called “On the Rocks” and the boys talk about the trailer. Then in the second half of the show, the amazing artist CHOGRIN talks his first 3G show: Gremlins, Goonies and Ghostbusters, Crazy4Cult and Gallery 1988 shows, and a wild ride he spent in an Ecto with Ernie Hudson, his life and encounters with the paranormal in Ecuador, and his exclusive plans for a new show in 2021!
#631 - "Eaglemoss Builders Club Part 6 and Ghostbusters II Score News" - August 17, 2020
The long-awaited score album release for Ghostbusters II is coming, we’ll talk about that as we also discover just how difficult steering rods and spring coils can be while building our Eaglemoss Hero Collector Ecto-1 subscription kits! That’s right, as we work through Stage 14 of our Ectomobile scale model kit, we’re talking about Randy Edelman’s score finally getting a proper album release from Sony Masterworks, Sony Pictures opening the studio doors again for a drive-in theater, LEGO mobile gaming, even the state of popular culture as a whole (as tends to often happen with these building episodes). Join us, won’t you! And watch out for flying spring coils.
#630 - "Remembering Tom Pollock" - August 10, 2020
This week on the show, we remember Ivan Reitman’s producing partner and Hollywood legend Tom Pollock, who passed at age 77. From a heartfelt remembrance in Vanity Fair by Reitman himself, to hearing Pollock’s words on stage talking about Draft Day, learn how Pollock was a key figure in many of the films that are probably among your favorites. Then in the second half of the show, some Ghostbusters Afterlife news, including three product leaks from Hasbro: the Spengler Neutrona Wand, Tully’s Terrible Night, and packaging for the Afterlife Ecto-1 (and the boys trying to figure out the best way to talk about them). And what do these leaks combined with studios choosing to release two large tentpole films on digital mean for Afterlife’s March release date?
#629 - "Wayne Resnick Radio Interview (1999)" - August 3, 2020
The winners of the Crossrip 5th Anniversary mystery boxes and a dip into the Proton Charging archives for a radio interview that aired in 1999 are in store for you this week! First up, Chris has the three winners of our mystery box giveaways in honor of our five years “on the air.” Did you win? Tune in to find out! Then, from the Proton Charging archives, Chris is dusting off a cassette tape of a radio interview that aired in Los Angeles way back in 1999. Around the time of the original film’s first DVD release, radio host Wayne Resnick was joined by Ernie Hudson, William Atherton and Slovitzia Jovan - and a man who had no idea he’d be spending (literally) hours and hours on the air for his own show, Mr. Chris Stewart even makes an appearance. Hop in the time machine and come with us!
#628 - "The Comic-Con That Wasn't" - July 27, 2020
San Diego Comic-Con may have happened virtually this year, but that didn’t stop the announcements, reveals, pre-orders, and more! First up, Hasbro is offering up the next in their Plasma Series, a two-pack of Louis Tully and Vinz Clortho. What does this release in September mean for the line moving forward? What are Troy and Chris’ thoughts on the offerings to date? Also, LEGO Legacy: Heroes Unboxed has opened this weekend, what is coming with the Ghostbusters DLC for the mobile game? All that plus Chris Ryall leaving IDW (again) and Annie Potts offering her voice to the new Rocketeer on this week’s show!
#627 - "Negligible Questions" - July 20, 2020
It’s the end of the Ghostbusters World as we know it. On this week’s show, talking about the end of the mobile AR game, a wave of new fan films, Spirit Halloween offerings, and some additional merch including bobbleheads and custom Real Ghostbusters Ecto-Glow figures. Then, in the second half of the show, humor us for another thought experiment on the inconsequential questions we have from the original films. All that plus some thoughts on our poor fellow fan in Canada who received a note on their windshield because of their Ecto-1 replica license plate on the show!
#626 - "Eaglemoss Builders Club Part 5" - July 13, 2020
We’re back to building our Hero Collector Ecto-1 subscription kits, this week stages 11 through 13 (otherwise known as the blue hose stages). While we’re doing so, we’re talking about Ghostbusters being number one at the box office 36 years later, Ghostbusters Year One issue number 4 and what it sets up for the future, remembering Peter Aykroyd and Carl Reiner, and a whole lot more!
#625 - "Ghostbusters Day 2020 Round-Up and 5 Year Anniversary Special" - July 6, 2020
We’re turning five this week! Five years to the day ago, the Crossrip became a podcast! Yay us! To celebrate, we’re wrapping up Ghostbusters Day and all that was revealed then having a few of our favorite clip moments from the past five years. First up, Ghostbusters Day was a little delayed due to things happening around the world and was celebrated last week. The subdued marketing day gave us a few product announcements like Campfire Marshmallows bringing Stay Puft brand to shelves next year and LEGO Unboxed getting a Ghostbusters makeover. But the big news was a behind the scenes featurette for Ghostbusters Afterlife that showed at drive-in theaters. Troy and Chris dissect as much as possible to glean from what was shown. Then in the second half of the show, our favorite moments: meeting new friends, talking to icons, even crossing the border for toys, all of that and more on a jam-packed show!
#624 - "Rayo de Protones" - June 29, 2020
Did you pre-order Real Ghostbusters retro figures only to receive the international carded versions? You’re not alone. This week on the show, we’re talking about the strange progression of events behind Wal-Mart’s pre-order, and the resulting products that fans have been receiving. The good news is that the figures are outstanding, and a real blast from the past. The bad news is that the patient people who have stuck with their pre-order have received the multi-lingual carded versions, which aren’t exactly what they expected. As a Belushi brother once said in a cinematic classic, “That's the multilingual version. It's fun AND educational.“ Also this week, we’re discussing Dan Aykroyd’s comments to Entertainment Weekly on Ghostbusters Afterlife and the doors it leaves open, and reactions to Cleanin’ Up the Town now streaming on Crackle!
