Their documentary "Cleanin' Up the Town: Remembering Ghostbusters" is an in-depth an intricate look behind the scenes of Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II that, as you'll hear in the interview, has truly been a labor of love for the last eight years. Anthony and Claire have been self-financing and self-producing the documentary during that time but need our help to cross the finish line so that we can all enjoy this special piece of film history. With just 11 days left in their Kickstarter campaign, there's a Ghostbusters movie out there that needs you, head to their site now to donate before it's too late!

We're breaking into the Crossrip feed for a special bonus episode this week, Paul Feig was honored by the Athena Film Festival this past weekend and as part of the festivities, there was a fantastic moderated Q&A where Ghostbusters (2016) was talked about at length - far beyond the one or two quotations that the major media has picked up. The state of comedy, the origins and the intentions behind the new Ghostbusters, the importance of giving talented women the chance to succeed in the film business. Presented here are some highlights from the live Q&A that took place on the Athena Film Festival's live feed. For more, check out athenafilmfestival.com!

#208 - Craig Goldberg and Abigail Gardner - February 22, 2016

Catch up on all this week's news and listen to an interview with the newly engaged couple: Craig Goldberg and Abigail Gardner, who spent February 14th watching the trailer announcement - and having Ivan Reitman help them start the journey of marriage! But before we get into their story, let's catch up a little with the response to the 3/3/16 trailer announcement including a news item featured in the Wall Street Journal. There's still plenty of Toy Fair information that Troy and Chris haven't explored including Mr. Potato Heads, Trading Cards, Retro Fast Food Glasses, Proton Packs, and oh yeah - and the reveal of two potential villains. Spoilers ahead, beware. As if that weren't enough excitement for one episode, we buried the lead -- Ecto Cooler might be back (and you might be able to use it to wash down Ghostbusters-themed Twinkies). So sit back, relax, get informed, then have that cold cold heart of yours warmed with the tale of two fools in love that got a little help from Ghost Corps this Valentine's Day.

We've got a special show planned for you to celebrate the Trailer Announcement that also just so happens to be on the date aliens in Paramus, NJ predicted would be the end of the world! Join Troy and Chris for a breakdown of the trailer announcement and perhaps some clues within for the future of what's to come. Then the boys will talk all the merchandise news that's fit to print because this week also is the New York International Toy Fair - Legos, fan clubs, Funko Pop Vinyls, there's a whole slew of good stuff coming that we finally got to see. Then, Cleanin' Up the Town's Kickstarter campaign happened in between recording sessions, and with it came a new trailer that the boys'll chat about. Also, great news out of Chicago as Second City has announced the Harold Ramis Film School opening in September, and there's a familiar name in charge of it. Finally, we'll get to everyone's fantastic (and fun) feedback to the Death and Taxes article discussed last week, including a guest appearance from the guys at Ghostbusters Resurrection. This is a CAN'T MISS episode of the Crossrip, especially considering the world might be coming to an end, join us for the last moments won't you?

#206 - "Ghostbusters Alright!" - February 8, 2016

It’s getting crazy out there (and something tells us this is just the beginning), so get caught up on everything that happened before this Friday with Troy and Chris. First up, the guys talk about the Ghostbusters.com relaunch, and look in depth at the new imagery for both classic and new Ghostbusters (and discuss the distinction between Classic and New). One of those photos is our first official look of Chris Hemsworth’s character Kevin - why are they withholding his last name and keeping him ambiguous? Is it important to a plot point? Is he a Janine allegory? Especially given his distinctive costume choices? Oh, and as result of the website launch, Paul Feig tells us that a trailer is coming out by the end of the month. Dave and Busters is gearing up for Ghostbusters 2016 with a new photo op display and the guys talk a bit about gameplay of the ticket redemption video that’s out in the wild. New GB16 shirts are showing up at Target as part of a test run, have you found yours yet? We haven’t! Speaking of merch, this magazine Retailer Merchandiser keeps feeding us gold, including our look at some book covers that might actually include our first glimpses of the new redesigned Slimer? Martin Charles the Graphic Designer on Ghostbusters (2016) was profiled by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and discussed a little about what he contributes to a film. Halloween Life interviewed Eldo Ray Estes, whom you might not recognize by name, but you’ll recognize from one very particular soundbite in the first Ghostbusters film. Stern Pinball details have leaked about an upcoming cabinet and the different iterations that are coming (and those details were quickly taken down), but the guys still caught enough of it to chat about. Finally Death and Taxes asked the question that’s always been on our minds: just what was Slimer supposed to be?

#205/#205a - Introducing The CYCLOTRON - A Roundtable on IDW's Ghostbusters International #1 - February 1, 2016

This week, you get not just the usual weekly Crossrip episode but we're introducing our sister-show, The Cyclotron! First up, Troy and Chris chat their usual news discussion including some chat about LEGO Dimensions and the under the radar announcement that a Ghostbusters (2016) tie-in console video game is coming from Activision. Also Hook and Ladder No. 8 in New York City is closing up shop for the next three years as it undergoes huge interior and exterior renovations and the boys have all the news that's fit to print on what's changing. The UK had a Toy Fair last week and Rocket Licensing showed off their first wave of tie-in products and boy, the sheer volume is a doozy! Entertainment Tonight interviewed Paul Feig on the red carpet at the Golden Globes and a seemingly trivial comment about test screenings has the internet in a frenzy, find out why. Nerf Herder is back with an all-new single from their upcoming album and it'll hit you right where it hurts, listen to an excerpt from their new song "Ghostbusters III." Plus, Sony has an Indoor Theme Park coming to Minnesota, Ghost Corps wants your franchises, and so much more... whew. And if that wasn't enough, we're spending the second half of the episode to introduce you to our new sister-show The Cyclotron! Special roundtable discussion episodes that will follow major releases meriting a little more in-depth discussion and analysis is what you'll find in these periodic episode releases - and this week we're pleased to be joined with Ryan Doell of the Ghostbusters of BC to talk about this week's release of Ghostbusters International #1 by IDW. Page by page, panel by panel, listen to the gang discuss this launch issue of an all-new Ghostbusters on-going comic volume and look for future episodes of the Cyclotron to feature familiar faces talking about very incredibly cool things!

Sounds boring? It wasn't - a good chunk of new props/gear from the 2016 film was on display and Troy and Chris feel like speculating on everything we saw. Ghost Corps wants you to know that you'll be able to have a Lazer Aventura at a Six Flags near you (and wants your franchise patches for a brand new display in their shiny offices)! Want to see GB16 early? Make a bid on IfOnly's charitable fundraising effort for a private screening before anyone else gets to see it. #123 - "Ghostbusters Home Shopping Network" - December 7, 2015

Chris is flying solo for this week's Crossrip, and when he takes the wheel craziness ensues! Okay, not craziness - Chris can hold his own without Troy, let's be honest. (Show notes: for those curious, our interlude about a boy and a girl at the beach leading into our tribute is from the National Lampoon Stereo Test, an album given away with the magazine in 1974).
